True North Relocation Import Security Filing (Initiative 10+2) Worksheet (.pdf) |
Effective January 26, 2009: Importer Security Filing (10+2 Initiative) Required CBP Filing The Importer Security Filing (or 10+2 Initiative) is a new U.S. Customs
& Border Protection (CBP) regulation that will take effect on January
26, 2009. The purpose of this new regulation is to increase U.S. port
security by obtaining data prior to vessel loading at foreign seaports.
This regulation will therefore require shippers to provide additional
advance data to the CBP.
Please use the attached True North Relocation Import Security Filing (Initiative 10+2) Worksheet as a guideline for required information. During the next 6 month period the U.S. CBP will be lenient in enforcing the rule, to provide sufficient time for all parties affected to meet the new requirements. Once compliance is fully enforced, violators will be penalized at $5,000.00 USD per violation. For more information, please visit the following U.S. CPB web links: |
