True North Relocation Import Security Filing (Initiative 10+2) Worksheet (.pdf)

Effective January 26, 2009: Importer Security Filing (10+2 Initiative)
Required CBP Filing

The Importer Security Filing (or 10+2 Initiative) is a new U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) regulation that will take effect on January 26, 2009. The purpose of this new regulation is to increase U.S. port security by obtaining data prior to vessel loading at foreign seaports. This regulation will therefore require shippers to provide additional advance data to the CBP.

To comply with this new regulation, the following information must be submitted to True North Relocation LLC for all import shipments into the United States at least 72 hours prior to vessel departure:

1. Supplier/Manufacturer
2. Seller’s Name
3. Buyer’s Full Name
4. Ship-To Party’s Name
5. Container Stuffing Location
6. Container Stuffer’s Name
7. Importer’s Full Name
8. Consignee’s Full Name
9. Country of Origin
10. Commodity Description
11. Purchase Order Number
12. Master or House B/L Number

Please use the attached True North Relocation Import Security Filing (Initiative 10+2) Worksheet as a guideline for required information.

During the next 6 month period the U.S. CBP will be lenient in enforcing the rule, to provide sufficient time for all parties affected to meet the new requirements. Once compliance is fully enforced, violators will be penalized at $5,000.00 USD per violation.
